Dr. Kvint’s report on research, writing, meeting and consulting activity

Dr. Kvint’s activity during this period was heavily influenced by the process of writing his new book—The Global Emerging Market: Strategic Management and Economics. It has been completed and will be released in January 2009. It is already available to be pre-ordered online:

CHAPTER EIGHT: INVESTMENT STRATEGY FOR THE GLOBAL EMERGING MARKET

The book is a combination of a monograph and a textbook, for advanced undergraduate, graduate students and the continuing education of strategists, governmental and business executives.

In addition to his writing, Dr. Kvint meet and/or consulted with the leaders of several countries, including a December 2007 meeting with President George W. Bush in the White House, a February 2008 meeting with the Mayor of the City of New York, Michael Bloomberg and a May 2008 meeting with the Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro, Branimir Gvozdenovic’.

Dr. Kvint spoke in front of the Bretton Woods Committee on strengthening capital markets in Global Emerging Market, a topic which he discussed further with the first managing director of the IMF, John Lipsky.

In January and February he was a keynote speaker at the Deming Scholars Seminar of the Fordham University Graduate School of Business.

Between June 4 and 8, Dr. Kvint participated at the twelfth annual St. Petersburg Economic Forum in Russia, where he was a moderator of the research symposium—“Energy of Thought”—organized by the Global Energy foundation.

In July 2008, Dr. Kvint presented his analysis of the Concept of Social Economic Development of Russia until the year 2020 in front of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. During this meeting, he discussed this issue with the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and the Executive Secretary of the Public Chamber, Dr. Yevgheny Velikhov.

During this period, Dr. Kvint wrote several articles for Forbes magazine as well as for a number of Russian publications like the magazine Ogoniok, and the newspaper Arguments and Facts.

He continued his activity as the Chair of the Department of Financial Strategy of the Moscow State University’s Moscow School of Economics. In addition, he gave a course of lectures on global strategy at the La Salle University School of Business

His community activity during this period was primarily related to his position as the chairman of the board of the Brighton Ballet Theatre.

Dr. Kvint also conducted the meeting of the board of directors of the St. Petersburg Seaport Terminal of which he is the chairman.
